Install Nativevideo, followed by Vinton

To use Vinton in your Salesforce Org, you first need to install the Nativevideo platform, followed by Vinton.

 1. Enable Digital Experiences

A pre-requisite for using Vinton in your Org is that Digital Experiences must be enabled. Note: there’s no commercial implication for you in relation to this.

  1. Go to Setup.

  2. In Quick Find, search for Digital Experiences and click on Settings.

  3. Tick “Enable Digital Experiences” and click Save.

  4. Click OK on the dialog box that then appears.

 2. Install Nativevideo

  1. Go to the AppExchange page for the freemium Nativevideo product (not the free)

  2. Click Get It Now and begin the installation.

  3. Tick to accept the Terms and Conditions.

  4. Choose Install in Production Environment (or sandbox if you are testing).

  5. Click Confirm and Install.

  6. Log into Salesforce and select Install for Admins Only. (You’ll assign permissions to different users after the licences have been assigned). Click Install.

  7. Tick Grant access to these third-party websites, then click Continue. It may take some time to install Nativevideo. We’ll notify you by email when the installation is complete.

  8. Once installation is confirmed, double check by going to Setup and viewing Installed Packages.

3. Install Vinton

  1. Browse to the Vinton page on the AppExchange and click Get It Now.

  2. Tick to accept the Terms and Conditions.

  3. Choose Install in Production Environment (or sandbox if you are testing).

  4. Click Confirm and Install. Installation will be quicker than Nativevideo as the package is smaller.

  5. Once you’re informed that installation is complete, check that Vinton is listed on the Installed Packages page.

4. Change Data Capture

  1. Go to Setup.

  2. In the Quick Find box search for Change Data Capture and click it.

  3. From the Available Entities list, locate Audio Note.

  4. Ensure Audio Note is selected and appears in the Selected Entities list (on the right).

5. Assigning licences

For the users who need to use Vinton, we must go to their User Profile in Salesforce.

  1. Go to Setup → Quick Find → Users and click on a User that requires a Vinton licence.

  2. On the User’s page, scroll down to Managed Packages.

  3. Click on Assign Licences, then assign Vinton and Nativevideo licences to the User. (N.B. If the User installed Vinton in your Org, licences will be automatically assigned).

6. Assigning Vinton Permissions

  1. Go to Salesforce Setup -> Permission Sets and click on New.

  2. Set label as “Vinton Extra” then Save.

  1. In “Object Permissions”, click Edit.

  1. Grant Vinton access to the Audio Note object by checking the relevant boxes, for example:

    • Audio Note: All record types and Read, View All Records, View All Fields

7. Creating Vinton Permission Set Group

  1. Go to Se-tup -> Permission Set Groups. lick New Permission Set Group.

  1. Create a New Permission Set Group for Vinton.

  2. Click Save.

  1. Open the created permission set group and click on View summary.

  1. From the Included Permission Sets tab, click Add.
    Select and add the following permission sets to the new Permission Set Group:

    • Nativevideo Permissions

    • Vinton Permissions

    • Vinton Extra

  1. Navigate to the Permission Set Group Assignments section on the same User’s page.

  2. Click Edit Assignments.

  3. Assign the Vinton Permission Set Group that you just created to the User.

  1. For Admin Users only: Separately assign Nativevideo Admin Permissions in Permission Set Assignments

Note: To grant any Users access to Vinton components in your Salesforce org, you must assign the Vinton Permission Set Group, which includes the Nativevideo, Vinton, and Vinton Extra permissions, as well as both the Nativevideo and Vinton licenses. Be sure to complete these license and permission set assignments for every user who requires access to Vinton Components in the Salesforce org.

 8. Connect Nativevideo backend to your Org

  1. Go to the App Launcher (nine dots), search for and select Nativevideo Admin.

  2. From the top tabs choose Nativevideo Configurations.

  3. From the left choose Media Platform.

  4. Choose Buffy Configs from within the sub-tabs.

  5. Choose the Region. Region is selected only once, at the start of the configuration. Decide which to use based on compliance and where your media files should be processed and saved. (Media files are the video and audio recordings captured by Vinton).

  6. Click Save.

 9. Install Connected Apps

  1. Go to Setup.

  2. In the Quick Find box, search for Connected Apps OAuth Usage and click it.

  3. Locate Nativevideo in the Connected App list.

  4. In the App Actions column, click Load Actions, then click Install.

  5. Click OK on the confirmation dialog that appears.

  6. Repeat the same steps for Vinton Scribe.
