The Vinton mobile app available for iOS and Android, enables users to record audio notes and in-person meetings from their mobile phone and upload them to Salesforce. Vinton must be installed in your Salesforce org before you can use the Vinton mobile app
1. Install the App
Go to the App Store on your device and search for Vinton by Nativevideo.
Install the app and then open it.
Log in using your Salesforce credentials.
2. Enable access
When first setting up for iOS devices, you need to allow access to speech recognition. This is because for iOS, Vinton uses Siri for transcriptions.
Enable your camera (not mandatory)
Enable your microphone (mandatory)
Enable notifications (not mandatory)
Enable access to the camera roll and location (not mandatory)
3. Vinton mobile app settings
After installing, you’ll see that there are no Vinton recordings on your phone.
Tap the hamburger icon to view Settings, where you can e.g. change language.
Tap the X to close Settings.
4. Record a voice note
Tap the microphone icon.
Tap Voice Note.
Tap the microphone icon to begin recording.
Tap the Stop button to stop recording.
After recording a Voice Note, you’ll be able to replay it, rename it and Save it to Salesforce.
After your note is uploaded, you’ll find it in your Vinton library.
5. Record In-Person Meeting
Tap the In-Person Meeting button.
Accept the disclaimer that all participants agree to being recorded.
Tap the microphone button to begin recording.
During the meeting, you can tap Pause to pause at any time. Tap Resume to continue recording.
Tap the Stop icon when you have finished your meeting.
You can now playback your meeting, or edit the name and tap Save.
You’ll find your in-person meeting in your Vinton Library.
For in-person meetings, speakers will be marked as Person 1, Person 2, Person 3 etc. by Vinton. Follow the instructions for Assigning speakers to Salesforce records to update these.
6. Record offline notes or meetings
If you’re offline, Vinton can still record voice notes and meetings that can be uploaded later.
Record your voice note or in-person meeting whilst you are offline.
After recording and saving, it will show up in a list of files that are ready to be uploaded.
Once back online, tap the Upload button to send the saved files to Salesforce.
